Welcome to VU Magazine at dizrupt.us (“VU Magazine”, “we”, “us”, “our”). These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of our website and any content, features, or services we provide (together, the “Services”).

By accessing or using the Services, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Services.

1. Who we are

VU Magazine is a music journalism website based in the United Kingdom. We publish nostalgic written content based on historical interviews, performances and other archival material.

2. Eligibility

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the “Effective date” at the top of this page.

If you continue using the Services after the changes take effect, you accept the new Terms.

4.1 Ownership

Unless stated otherwise, all original text, designs, graphics, logos, and other content on the Services are owned by VU Magazine or used under licence. This includes for example:

Articles and features
Interviews and written commentary
Site design and layout

You may not copy, reproduce, modify, distribute, or publicly display our content without our prior written permission, except as allowed by law such as fair dealing or fair use.

4.2 Historical and third party material

Our content often refers to:

Historical interviews and performances
Archival media
Quotes and references from artists, labels, journalists, and other third parties

All third party names, images, marks, and works remain the property of their respective owners. VU Magazine does not claim ownership of such third party materials and uses them only for purposes such as news reporting, commentary, and criticism, in line with applicable laws.

5. Your use of the Services

You agree to use the Services only for lawful purposes.

You must not:

Break any law or regulation while using the Services.
Infringe the rights of others, including privacy, publicity, or intellectual property rights.
Attempt to gain unauthorised access to our systems or another user’s account.

By posting User Content, you give VU Magazine a non exclusive, royalty free, worldwide licence to use, store, display, reproduce, modify, and distribute your User Content in connection with the Services.

You confirm that:

You have the rights you need to share the User Content.
Your User Content does not infringe any third party rights.
Your User Content is not unlawful, abusive, hateful, defamatory, or otherwise harmful.

We may remove or edit User Content at our discretion, but we are not obligated to monitor all User Content.

8. No professional advice

The content on VU Magazine is for general information, commentary, and entertainment. It does not amount to legal advice, financial advice, or any other kind of professional advice.

You are responsible for how you use or rely on the information on our site.

9. Third party links and services

The Services may contain links to third party websites, platforms, or services, such as:

Streaming platforms
Ticketing or merchandise sites

Archives or media libraries

We will review your notice and respond in line with applicable law. We may remove or restrict access to the material while we review.

12. Disclaimers

You use the Services at your own risk.

To the fullest extent allowed by law:

Any other liability that cannot be limited or excluded under the law of England and Wales.

14. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold VU Magazine and our owners, directors, employees, and contributors harmless from any claims, losses, damages, liabilities, and expenses, including reasonable legal fees, that arise from:

Your use of the Services.
Your breach of these Terms.
Your violation of any law or the rights of a third party.

This obligation will not apply where it would be unlawful, for example if you are a consumer and the indemnity would unfairly limit your statutory rights.

15. Governing law and jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.

You agree that the courts of England and Wales will have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute or claim relating to these Terms or your use of the Services, except where the law of your country gives you mandatory rights to bring a claim elsewhere.

You may stop using the Services at any time.

These Terms, together with any other policies that we link to from the Services (including the Privacy Policy), form the entire agreement between you and VU Magazine regarding your use of the Services.

If a court finds any part of these Terms invalid or unenforceable, the rest will continue to apply.
